Susan Potter knew in exquisite and grisly detail what was going to happen to her body after death. It seems that for the last 15 years of her life, she lived for Vic Spitzer, the scientist committed to fulfilling her dream of helping medical students become compassionate doctors. For the past 16 years, National Geographic has followed Potter’s life and death and her 3D resurrection to the highest resolution.

I remember your school. Right across the street from the Veterans Administration Medical Center, right of Colorado Avenue . . . in Denver, Colorado.

Why did her face remain that way? Her face looks as if she was in pain and her toes and hands seemed tense and curled up

She's amazing. People like her are the reason healthcare has made such leaps and bounds. I had made up my mind when I was a teen and I stand by my judgment almost 2 decades later: I will donate my body to science when it has served its purpose on this plane. I want nothing more than to help those who are helping others.

Science= zero emotion....a body needs to be respected. I hope scientists have enough data already. Uggh personally not interested in donating anything. This scientist only cares about his job....um i prefer to be loved by the maggots or the fire.

This is something more people should do if it will make our healthcare systems better for our grandchildren then it is worth it.

Pretty cool.......guess her departed soul comes to visit and check it out..... the organic body is to be degraded but after all, degradation can turn out as " art " ? the rest of us, just want to be feeding the flowers and vegetables.......I do......not care.....I am giving my bod to science as a convenience and anything will be fine with me. I will not be in it. Enjoy my rotten bones......or not.

DR Spitzer, How could you Not want a hug from someone who donated to you her dead body? The hugs probably did some good for you, gave you a little warmth and soul.

I have had 27 surgeries but am having a doubt if I could donate my body like this. I have been a Guinea pig for dr's for years and am so tired. I plan to be cremated but if anyone has a reason for me to donate, let me know.
